The Day Services program provides a continuum of services designed to enhance each participant’s ability to experience an independent, meaningful and productive day. We take a person-centered approach that provides a variety of learning experiences designed around the needs and preferences of each participant. The program is divided in to five separate areas: Enrichment, Community Connections, The Apartment, Social Experiences and Fit Tech. The participants range in age from their early 20s into their 80s.

Some of the activities offered participants in the Day Services program are:

  • Volunteering in the Community
  • In-house paid work when available
  • Music/Movement
  • Exercise
  • Communication Skills
  • Life Skills
  • Social Skills
  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Cooking Class
  • Walking Group
  • Pet Therapy
  • Garden Club
  • Community Experiences

Day program staff focus on helping participants achieve a meaningful day. Activities are implemented by staff with high positive energy to ensure consumer participation. Staff members are mindful of participants’ abilities and interests and adjust activities accordingly. Staff utilize verbal encouragement, modeling, limited hands-on assistance and occasional hand-over-hand assistance to help participants achieve success. Participants benefit from active engagement and, together with staff, they work on and achieve their daily goals.
