OUR SUPPORTS

 

Since 1984, Residential (a division of Allied Rehabilitation Centers, Inc.) has provided assistance to persons with developmental and physical disabilities.  Offering a variety of community living settings,  Residential  Services’ belief  that persons  with disabilities  can live as  independently as possible, and have positive relationships with others living in the community, ultimately guides the assistance we provide.

 

Staff assists person’s served with training in activities of daily living like cooking, cleaning, laundry and shopping.  But more than that, staff assists persons served with their own personal development in ways that are positive, developmental, and supportive of individual choice.  A dedicated, professional staff provide supervision based on individual need.

 

INDIVIDUALIZED HOME SUPPORTS

 

Our Individualized Home Supports offer personalized service to persons in their own homes. Generally, people live by themselves, with their families, or with a housemate in their own apartment. Each person receives individualized support based on their own needs.

 

COMMUNITY LIVING

 

Our Community Living Arrangements utilize the traditional known group home models.  Nursing oversight, behavioral care, with consultative services from community medical practitioners is an integral part of the assistance we provide.  Homes are located in Enfield, East Windsor, and South Windsor. Between three to six individuals reside at each home, and each home is staffed accordingly to the individual needs of the residents.  It is our goal to provide a supportive home environment.

 

CERTIFICATION

 

Residential Services of Allied Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. is fully licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Disabilities.

ADMISSION AND REFERRAL

 

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.  CLA visits, records and medical background are requested as part of the referral process.  A month’s trial stay is required before final admission to the program is completed.  After admission, each individual’s skills are assessed in order to develop an overall plan of services.  Goals are set in major areas of living, including social skills,  vocational development, personal hygiene, functional academics and community integration.

Referrals are subject to approval by Residential Services,

Allied Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. and the State of Connecticut, Department of Developmental Disabilities.
